Panama Canal Tours in the Republic of Panama

One of the "MUST" things to do while you visit Panama is to stop by the Panama Canal in Panama City. This historic place is both entertaining and educational. If you are flying through Panama City, you may have time to stop at the canal. If you have 2-3 hours you can see how the canal was built, witness first hand how the large ships pass from sea to sea and also learn how and why they are now expanding the canal system to handle larger ships. The canal viewing opens at 9 am and there is a small fee to tour the canal. There is a 3 story museum, gift shop, observation deck to watch the ships pass and also a movie theater to see a 20 minute presentation on the canal.
